1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction) to use StoryBytes.io. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian permission.

2. Accounts

• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• You agree not to share your account or allow others to access it in a way that could harm the platform.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts for violation of these Terms.

3. Content

User Content:

Authors may publish interactive stories. By submitting content, you grant StoryBytes.io a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote your content on the platform.

Public Domain & Licensed Content:

Some stories are derived from public domain works or licensed material. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or originality.

Prohibited Content:

You may not upload illegal, harmful, infringing, or abusive material.

4. Subscriptions & Purchases

• All purchases are processed through the App Store or Google Play.
• Premium subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your device account settings.
• Prices are displayed at purchase time and may include tax.
• Refunds are subject to App Store/Google Play policies.

5. Premium Features

Premium subscribers have access to:

• Ad-free reading experience.
• Offline story downloads for reading without internet.
• Early access to new releases.
• Premium features require an active subscription.

6. Audio Features

The app includes text-to-speech functionality that reads stories aloud using your device's built-in voice synthesis. Voice navigation allows hands-free chapter selection using your device's microphone. These features use on-device processing only.

7. Email Communications

• By creating an account, you consent to receive email communications from StoryBytes.io, including product updates, new story announcements, and promotional content.
• You may opt out of marketing emails at any time through your account settings at storybytes.io/settings.
• Transactional emails (such as password resets, account confirmations, and security notices) are not affected by your marketing preferences and will continue to be sent as needed.

8. Intellectual Property

All software, branding, and platform content (excluding user-generated stories) are the property of StoryBytes.io. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our intellectual property without written consent.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free service.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StoryBytes.io and its affiliates shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
